Another Broken Toe

Recently I was watching a “Sci-Show” episode on Youtube talking about the benefits of running/being barefoot. I can attest to the many joys and benefits, even if they are imagined by me, and I rarely will wear shoes unless really needed. That same episode also mentioned that those running barefoot also tend to have a lot more foot injuries, even if benefits are gained elsewhere. I went for a run yesterday in the bluffs, Christmas cut in front of me to avoid some Russian thistle, and I heard the crunch of my pinkie toe as it connect to his ankle.
I finished up the run, probably should have walked it off. Once again, I am finding my running fun sidelined by a injured foot. It is getting to feel like about half the time, after trying to get backing into a running pattern, I keep finding myself sidelined by yet another injury.
I could show you a picture of my bruised toe, but instead I offer Boson hoarding a dog toy I made for the dogs.

A Gift

What a gift it would be
A day of silence
Freedom from having to navigate
This dark maze of social interaction
Required to pass in the hall
A day of silence
Freedom from the constant reminders
Of the non-verbal piece of shit I am
The alien that inhabits my body
A day of silence
To make peace within my head
To find order in the soup of life
A day of silence
To allow my heart to open
To allow creations to live
A day of silence
To find my feet
To find my sanity
Just a day of silence

Back, for Whatever that Means

My site has been down for a while. I finally got around to deleting the offending widget, and now we are back up and running.
Changes? Maybe a few. New girlfriend, home, dog, cars, and a whole new world of stresses making my wonder why there is a need for the existence of people.
I intend to start trying to get caught back up, as well as get back into the practice of therapeutic art, hiding in my own little world, hidden from the domain and oppressiveness of today’s social media, where the words matter to me, and me alone- nobody else needs to care, nobody else needs to matter.
There seems to be some changes to how WordPress works that I need to try to learn as well. All that is for later, though. For now, I just wanted to write, say “Hello” to me, and drop a picture of a sunset from the Carrizo Plain taken a while back.

Some random pictures.

Here are some pictures of an abandoned Dodge, maybe a few decades past her prime. This trip must have been from 2022 because there are no pictures of Christmas.

I have recently made another trip to the Carrizo Plain, more of a scouting trip where I identified some potential camping spots. So hopefully I will have some more pictures and posts of the Carrizo Plain sooner then later. Before then, hopefully I will finally get around to posting about my recent Utah trip. Maybe, just maybe, I will finally post about my Death Valley trip from about 3 years ago!
