Fences

Sunset time

Not much to report. We went for a hike in the pasture, got stopped by barbed wire fence. In the morning, trying my luck up the hill again, I did manage to find a way through the fence. I will try next time walking to the top.

Despite my disappointment for not making it further, Fender still had a grand time.

A moderate hike
Halted by the barbed wire
Next time, a field over

Never a straight line
Through the thickest of brambles
So goes the terrier

Good Morning!

They Had a Yard

Driving on Old Kern Canyon Highway Road the other weekend, as I passed a gate on a dirt road, I noticed it didn’t have a lock or signs. At the time, I made a mental note to come back and scout the location. Last night I did, it was beautiful. It was quiet, with a yard, and a mountain for me to climb, just about perfect.

Day’s Haikus

With the cow’s pasture
Was the unexpected gift
Of fenced in peace

Climb the jumbled blocks
So many steps leading higher
All for one star’s glow

The stars hide tonight
Behind the fluffiest curtains
Bringing us flowers

Beginning week two
Music of the babbling brook
Chorus sung by Frogs

A sliver of bright
A glow over the near peaks
Twinkles in tree tips

Secrets being told
Lost in rushing waters below
Feeding the desert

The stars gave a roar
With a pair of flashing eyes
For Seven Sisters
